OnePlus CEO Pete Lau Promises a Global OnePlus 5G Smartphone by End of 2019
Soon we will witness the launch of OnePlus 5G Smartphone according to the latest update. OnePlus is currently the hottest smartphone manufacturer right now after Apple. Arguably, Apple is also somewhat less popular in 2019 compared to OnePlus in terms of hype. This is because of the latest OnePlus 7 series which was announced by the company. In this series, there were two smartphones named the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. While the OnePlus 7 is a ‘flagship killer’, OnePlus 7 Pro can be termed as a flagship.
In some parts of Europe, OnePlus also launched a 5G variant of its OnePlus 7 Pro called the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G edition. While you could say that OnePlus could have included 5G support on every OnePlus 7 Pro, it would make the smartphone costlier. Therefore, OnePlus decided to release a separate version and reduce its costs. Also, 5G is available only in some parts of Europe and parts of the United States right now. So there is no 5G network to make use of 5G support on the smartphones.
However, things are about to change in the next 12 months as more and more countries are about to test 5G networks. This means that to take advantage of 5G networks, 5G smartphones are also needed. And OnePlus knows about this development. Thus, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has promised a global 5G OnePlus smartphone before the end of 2019.
If you know OnePlus, you could have possibly already thought that this could be the OnePlus 7T series. Yes, we are also expecting OnePlus to launch its OnePlus 7T Pro with 5G support. This would mean that people wouldn’t have to buy a separate 5G edition to experience 5G. While OnePlus 7T Pro is expected to mostly similar to OnePlus 7 Pro, 5G support would definitely make people buy its new flagship. On the other hand, OnePlus 7 Pro users would feel left out as they spent almost the same amount for their flagship without 5G support.
